If the flight controller is the brains, then the motors are the brawn of the operation. The higher the KV, the faster the motors will spin per volt applied. More KV will result in more power applied and potentially higher power usage, depending on the propellers used and the voltage of the battery. Be sure to pick the correct size motors for your desired flight characteristics. Generally lower KV motors will be used for higher voltage batteries such as 6S.
